even though we have the current version of vlc. It is not recognised and now videos will not play

Hey, if you've installed the 64 bit version of Quelea, then you'll need the 64 bit version of VLC - by default you'll get the 32 bit VLC installer which won't work.

You can get the 64 bit version by selecting the drop down arrow, then "Installer for 64 bit version" on VLC's download page.
